Hello everyone!
Landed safely in Singapore, such an amazing place. We’re ready to explore this city (well, a small part of it!) for the day before a late check-out and an even later flight to Munich.
Thank-you to all who have left us comments, they are greatly appreciated and will keep us connected to the real world!
This photo is of part of the Singapore skyline viewed from our hotel balcony, with the recently completed Hotel overlooking the marina. Looks like a ship perched on top!
David G….. you’ll love to sketch these buildings!
Love to all, ciao for now!
Glad to hear you got there safely! Missing you xxx Sal xxx
ReplyDeleteNot to mention the space ship (aka flying saucer) in the foreground.

Wow, that's amazing - what a spectacular view!! Quite an exhilarating start to the trip. Hope you get to do a bit of shopping in Singapore. Or are you saving your pennies for bigger and better things.
ReplyDeleteHi we are glad you got there safely-Hope its not too humid. Wow what an amazing skyline and view from your hotel. Enjoy-Bon Voyage-Keep safe. ciao Rosa and Sam
ReplyDeleteGreat to see all is well so far. Yes Singapore is great - I loved it too but don't remember seeing anything like that new hotel back in '85. Just quickly - Joe's mum is stable.

Hi P & T.
ReplyDeleteThe building with the "boat" on top has an overhanging pool that is about 100 metres long and is 200 m above ground level, quite spectacular. Has 300 shops inside and you can cruise around to the shops via an internal waterway system.
What's even more amazing is that when Nelda and I were passing through Singapore in October 2008 the area for the hotel was being reclaimed from swamp land so they did that and built it in just over 2 years. They certainly know how to get things done over there.
Cheers
Alex
Hi Tina and Paul, It has been great so far to hear of your wonderful experiences, it sounds like you are truly having a fabulous time. I have been to Munich so I can relate ! Yeh I agree about the bags..they become so heavy and you just look at them and think I wish I didn't have to carry you around. I was on a Contiki Tour and yeh....those bags !! Have Fun and thanks for the mention in your blog xx Love Angela and Tery.x
